This book has been compiled with the object of presenting to the student of Occultism a coherent synthesis of all, or nearly all, the information regarding the Etheric Double, and other closely allied phenomena, which has been given to the world through the medium of modern Theosophical and psychical research literature. This information is scattered over a very large number of books and articles, some forty of which the compiler has consulted, a list of these being given at the end of this document. The writer wishes it understood that his work is a compilation — nothing more. All he has done is to collect and arrange the material which others have provided. There are many advantages in this method of study.

The good wishes of the Section will follow her to India, where Mr. Powell is, very appropriately, stationed. Powell died on March 20 , in Los Angeles, California. Powell's most important contribution to Theosophical literature was a series of books in which he compiled materials drawn from several previous authors.
Each volume draws on dozens of theosophical books published during the previous forty years approximately Powell gathered up isolated sentences, paragraphs, pages, and chapters scattered throughout some seventy books, sometimes quoting directly, sometimes summarizing in his own words.
He then organized them into a coherent and systematic presentation Most of the sources reflect the esoteric investigations of Annie Besant, second president of the Theosophical Society, and her close friend and ally, the highly gifted, though controversial clairvoyant, Charles W.
Each volume includes a detailed, well-organized index. Powell was a prolific writer. From Theosophy Wiki. Jump to: navigation , search. Theosophical Society Adyar Archives.

According to esoteric teachings we have an energy body of lighter, less dense material that is connected to our physical bodies. Those who can see it call it the aura and can sometimes tell the state of a person's health by the way it appears. Those who use its energy refer to the force as prana, chi, vital force, orgone or a number of other names. There are seven chakras, or energy points, where this energy collects in the etheric body. Working with the chakras and these spiritual energies can play a big part in the psychic development and enlightenment of those sensitive enough to work on these levels. This book shows you how.
